Our accommodation varies, from camping in the remote wilderness or staying at standard or luxurious lodges, all in accordance with your budget.

8-Day/10-Day camping safari - South Africa to Botswana

Husband or partner wants to go camping and explore Africa? You do not know what to expect from such an experience, how to prepare for one, compile a checklist before leaving, or know how to plan your bush meals and kitchen?

Without the modern technology at hand the family will still expect you to be as efficient in the bush as you are in your kitchen. Why not experience it yourselves before deciding that bush camping is not for you?

If that is not your reason, how about unwinding and relaxing among friends while experiencing new and exotic places where you can feel the sights, sounds and tastes of a new culture. How about just having fun and join us on this safari to experience the camping scene and leave us to worry about everything.

Our 8-day/10-day trips into Botswana have specifically been designed for the unique minded women. This is not a course where you will be required to sit and listen for hours to theoretical explanations on the subject. It's a practical experience in a relaxed atmosphere, either joining in or just watching.

A male field guide accompanies us on this trip so that there is no need for the women to worry about the driving and all the mechanical stuff associated with the vehicle. The trips are done in air-conditioned off-road vehicles. A woman will be your cook and show you the finer points on bush camping.

Entering the magnificent game reserves of Botswana, you will feel the real pulse of Africa. Early morning game drives followed by scrumptious breakfasts prepared at the various campsites, awaits you on this safari.
What can be more memorable than a bush candlelit dinner and good wine, surrounded by the nocturnal sounds and sights of the true inhabitants of this land?

Women with off road driving experience are more than welcome to join the safari in their own vehicles but fuel and vehicle maintenance will then be for their own account. Botswana is the main destination for these trips but if there's is a need for a group to do it elsewhere and time allowing we can organize and customize trips to Lake Malawi and the coast of Mozambique.

As an extension to the 8-day safari or as a separate trip, we offer a trip inclusive of the Okavango Panhandle in Botswana. From Maun we drive up to Guma Lagoon Lodge on the North Western side of the Okavango Delta.

With its myriad's of rivers, channels and waterways the area provides a home for many water and swamp birds as well as birds associated with forest and woodland adjacent to the waterways. Even the elusive Pels Fishing owl or other rare species like the White Backed Night Heron and African Skimmers are something the bird lover might reasonably hope to strike from the list of rare birds encountered.

For the next few days you can indulge in fishing, bird watching, game viewing and an overnight mokoro trip where you will explore the many waterways and overnight on one of the uninhabited islands. As night fell, you can hear the far carrying calls of the African Fish Eagle while sitting around the campfire discussing the day's events.

Included in the trip are all meals, limited wine, mineral water and soft drinks, camping and park fees.
International and domestic flights to and from Johannesburg International Airport are not included in the price.
